NIKOKBK is a French rope artist based in Lyon. He has been practicing a form of bondage commonly known as Shibari or Kinbaku since 2018. Kinbaku (緊縛) is a Japanese term that means "tight binding." It refers to the art of rope bondage, where the focus is not only on physical restraint but also on the aesthetics and emotional connection between participants. Originally derived from the martial art HojoJutsu, which involved capturing, restraining, and punishing with ropes, this technique of oppression was fetishized and evolved into a sophisticated form of artistic expression. This practice is often characterized by intricate and visually striking patterns that highlight beauty, vulnerability, and trust. NIKO discovered this art at a time in his life when he needed renewal and a way to let go, but he quickly realized that it only scratched the surface of what Kinbaku could offer him. He found a world that allowed him to structure himself, connect with others, and use rope as a medium of expression. When photography no longer sufficed to convey what he felt through the ropes, he turned to video, which he began to explore organically, in connection with his identity as a switch in his kinks. For NIKO, fisting and Kinbaku have a lot in common, as both involve trust and total devotion to the other, exploring the limits of pleasure and a love for performance. NIKO does not consider himself as a Master. While he knows how to take control when it is entrusted to him or when a sub offers themselves to him, he seeks to break the traditional patriarchal image often associated with a man tying up a vulnerable young woman. For him, bondage could be a tool for having fun and exploring a unique aesthetic universe. It is within this context that he sought to collaborate with Axel Abysse, to merge their worlds in a reciprocal exchange.
